Early Intervention
At Jellybean Family Psychology we promote child development and value the importance of early intervention and the profound impact it has on a child and family’s overall wellbeing and functioning.
As a registered NDIS provider, we offer a number of services to support families and children with developmental delays and/or disabilities.
Our team of Psychologists and Developmental Therapists provide an intervention program the offers targeted early childhood supports through developmental and therapy services. Via face-to-face intervention sessions, our therapists support children to meet milestones across all developmental areas, including cognitive, social, emotional, sensory, fine and gross motor.
Early Help, Lifelong Impact
Through our early intervention program we aim to support children with developmental delay or disability as early as possible to improve outcomes across life.
We focus on building skills, independence, and participation in everyday activities like communication, mobility and learning.
Under the NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach, children aged 0–9 can access tailored supports even without a diagnosis.
The goal is to provide timely, targeted supports that reduce future reliance on more intensive services.
Early intervention under the NDIS is family-centred, recognising parents and carers as key partners in a child’s development.
Evidence-Based Support for Children and Families
Evidence shows early support leads to better long-term outcomes; emotionally, socially and developmentally.
Here’s how we help children and families thrive through early intervention at Jellybean:
Play-based therapy to support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation in ways that are meaningful for the child.
Through Family Capacity Building we support families to strengthen understanding, confidence and skills in responding to their child’s unique needs at home and in the community.
Sensory and emotional regulation strategies to help children stay calm, focused and better able to participate in daily routines.
Support with routines such as sleeping, eating, dressing and toileting to build independence.
Visual supports and communication tools to help children express themselves when verbal language is delayed.
Transition/school readiness support including transitions, attention building, following instructions and social learning.
Collaborating with educators, allied health/professionals to ensure consistent, child-centred support across environments.
Tailored strategies for neurodivergent children (e.g. autism, ADHD, PDA) that honour their strengths and reduce distress.
Neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed practice — we prioritise connection over compliance and co-regulation over control.

Individualised Therapy Plans
Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs of your child and through multidisciplinary collaboration between the family, therapists, teachers, and other services we strive to provide a comprehensive support network where sharing insights, strategies and progress updates ensure that everyone is working together to support your child's individual needs and goals to promote better outcomes.
Intervention plans are developed and reviewed by our Principal Psychologist and the child’s Developmental Therapist with a focus on:
The child’s individual interests, preferences and strengths,
The child’s specific needs, concerns and goals,
Targeted interventions and strategies to facilitate positive change and growth,
Flexibility and adaptability to modify approach and techniques based on the child’s response.
Therapies for the Child
We value educational settings, schools, and homes as primary environments where children spend a significant portion of their time. By incorporating therapy into these settings, it ensures that the support extends beyond the individual therapy session creating a consistent and nurturing environment to promote positive and sustainable outcomes.
Intervention sessions incorporate intentionally planned, play-based strategies to meet the child’s individualised goals, supporting the development of:
Social interactions and skills
Emotional identification and expression
Self-regulation
Cognitive development
Effective communication
Improved focus and concentration
Confidence and resilience
Self-esteem and overall wellbeing
School readiness
Sensory profile
School Holiday Programs

These programs offer inclusive, safe, and engaging environments where participants can develop social, communication, and life skills. They promote community participation, independence, and fun during school breaks, with support from trained staff to ensure accessibility and personalized care.
