Paediatric Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy supports infants, children, and adolescents experiencing movement delays, coordination challenges, postural concerns, attention difficulties, or injuries that limit their participation in school, sports, and everyday activities.
Our physiotherapist provides comprehensive assessments and tailored therapy to support young clients in improving gross motor skills, walking pattern, coordination, and balance. Individualised movement programs can also benefit children experiencing attention and behavioural challenges.
Helping Your Child Thrive
We work with children experiencing:
Delays in gross motor skills like rolling, sitting, crawling and walking, as well as more advanced skills like jumping and bike riding
Developmental concerns such as plagiocephaly (head shape), in-toeing/out-toeing, and scoliosis
Neurological or genetic conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Global developmental delay
Attention and behavioural difficulties such as with ADHD and Autism
Sports injury rehab and injury prevention
Our aim is to optimize the quality of life for children with motor dysfunction, delays or disabilities, in a dedicated child friendly space
Clinical Focus Areas
Neurological and Genetic conditions: Supporting children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other neurological or genetic diagnoses that impact movement, coordination, and overall development. Therapy is tailored to each child to maximise independence and participation in daily activities. We also incorporate approaches such as Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), which uses targeted, hands-on techniques to help encourage new movement skills and support your child’s development.
Gross motor delays: Assessment and treatment for children who are slower to reach milestones such as sitting, crawling, standing, or walking. We use play-based therapy to build strength, balance, and confidence in movement.
Developmental/musculoskeletal concerns: Management of postural issues, coordination difficulties, and musculoskeletal conditions such as torticollis, flat feet, and growth related pains, helping children move comfortably and efficiently.
Attention and behavioural difficulties: Supporting children who experience challenges with focus, regulation, and participation in physical activities. Therapy incorporates engaging, structured movement to improve attention, body awareness, and self-regulation.
Sports injuries: Rehabilitation for children and adolescents recovering from injuries, with a focus on safe return to sport, injury prevention, and building strength and resilience.
Our Therapeutic Approach
We offer personalised, evidence-based therapy tailored to each child’s needs. Our team collaborates closely with families, educators, and healthcare providers to ensure consistent support across settings.
Services are available in our clinic and through school-based partnerships, always delivered with compassion and a child-centred focus.
Our physiotherapist is also highly trained in Dynamic Movement Intervention. DMI encourages the brain to build new connections through a process known as neuroplasticity. This means DMI goes beyond physical movement - it supports your child’s brain and body in working together to create meaningful, lasting progress. Based on the latest neurorehabilitation research, DMI helps children gradually develop their motor skills and build independence step by step.
